This talk will discuss the Stonewall Riot, which is credited as being the inspiration for Pride Month, but it will also look further back in time to other, lesser-known protests as well as forward to pivotal moments in the march of progress towards LGBTQ+ rights. The talk will primarily be focused on the roots of queer liberation to inform audiences how Pride Month got its start and how it has grown to be more inclusive. Join in at home with a live cooking demo every Tuesday through Pride month. Each episode is 15 minutes and includes instructions, a list of ingredients provided beforehand, and a guest chef.

Join Capital City Pride in displaying the flags of countries where homosexuality is still outlawed. You're also encouraged to share flags that highlight anti-LGBTQ+ legislation in the United States, and in Iowa. Meet at the Shattering Silence statue!
