Pride at FilmScene, 6 p.m. Mon. Aug. 12, FilmScene, 118 E. College St. “A Kid Like Jake” starring Claire Danes and Jim Parsons as parents of a transgender 4-year-old.

Cedar Valley PrideFest, 5:30 p.m. Fri., Aug. 23 (concert featuring Cece Peniston), and starting 10:30 am Sat., Aug. 24, in the 200 and 300 blocks of West 4th Street in Downtown Waterloo. Saturday features a Rainbow Fun Run, music all day including Cedar Rapids/Iowa City favorite Hollywood Hope, a “drag” race, and burlesque show. Find it on FB or at cedarvalleypride.com
